About Shooting Star
- John Harte
- I recently left newspaper photojournalism to turn Shooting Star into a full-time service. For the past 10 years, I've photographed and produced multimedia slide shows for the top athletes in the Bakersfield, Ca. area. I honestly believe this is the best sports photography product available to consumers anywhere and I know my clients will agree. I've wanted to create a blog to share news about my clients for some time, so here it is! If you are a current or past client, please send along your news. Remember, the Shooting Star client family is huge and generally connected with each other; lots of people are interested in how you are doing.
Sorry, we don't do "spec"
As word has spread about my taking Shooting Star full-time, I have been receiving requests from both photographers and customers to work on speculation. This is a form of photography where you shoot pictures and then try to sell them afterward, usually online and at low fees. Please be aware that I do not shoot on speculation, nor do my contract shooters. No photographers with our level of experience shoot on speculation. All clients are given the fee for our service before we begin shooting, and after they agree to the terms and pay a deposit, we'll get to work for them.
